
What is HUG?
Honoring Unspoken Grief (HUG) is a program designed to offer educational,
emotional and spiritual support to parents who experience the loss of
an infant through miscarriage, still birth or neonatal death. At Loyola
we recognize the need of some parents to acknowledge the life and death
of their baby(ies) in a supportive environment.
Who is part of HUG?
HUG was started by a group of nurses here at Loyola and is made up of
variety of health-care professionals. We have many years of diverse experience
within our disciplines and have a special interest in perinatal bereavement.

Join a Support Group
During a difficult time, being able to share your grief with others who
understand what you are going through can ease the burden you may feel.
Our experienced staff offers a support group, Journey Toward Healing
that is designed specifically for parents grieving this type of loss.
The group meets from 6-7:30pm once a week for six consecutive weeks at:
Loyola
University Medical Center in Maywood.
