Obstetrics

There is nothing like delivering a baby. It's a celebration of life, love and continuity.

That is why we offer expert obstetric care, including labor and delivery in home-like suites, and postpartum support. We also offer extraordinary care in cases of complications before, during and after delivery.

In fact, we are unmatched in the region, and in some ways, the world:

  • In 2005, Loyola delivered the smallest surviving baby in the world, just 8.6 ounces, breaking our own previous record of the world's smallest surviving baby of 9.9 ounces.
  • In the last 20 years, Loyola has delivered more than 2,000 babies weighing under 13 ounces
  • Loyola has outstanding survival and outcomes for the high-risk newborns in our care.
  • Loyola has delivered over 100 sets of triplets as well.
  • Loyola is a state-designated perinatal center, serving eight regional hospitals

There is simply no better, safer, more advanced or more caring way to have a baby. And most of our prenatal services, including utlrasound, are available in our three locations—close to home.
