Headache and Pain Syndromes

In a specialized headache clinic, adult and adolescent patients can benefit from the combined expertise of neurologists, otolaryngologists and emergency medicine physicians who collaborate with the patients’ primary care physicians. If necessary, MRI or CT scans can be performed to diagnose the problem. Anesthesiologists are part of the team to diagnose and treat pain syndromes. Treatment may include a variety of methods such as medication, behavioral therapy, education and biofeedback training. Patients may have access to experimental medications through clinical trials.
