Occupational Therapy
Continuum of Care

The Occupational Therapy Department provides a comprehensive spectrum of services for the restoration of optimum functional outcomes for patients of all ages. Diagnoses include illness, disease processes, congenital anomalies, developmental delays and traumatic injuries. 

Services Include:

  • Specialized upper and lower extremity orthotic fabrication 
  • Positioning 
  • Sensory stimulation 
  • Sensory-motor retraining 
  • Neuromuscular re-education 
  • Coordination training 
  • Strengthening 
  • Energy conservation 
  • Stress management 
  • Training in functional body mechanics 
  • Cognitive retraining 
  • Perceptual impairment retraining 
  • Activities of daily living retraining 
  • Equipment adaptation and training 
  • Scar management 
  • Safety training 
  • Patient and family education 
  • Psychosocial support

Special to Pediatrics Patients:

  • Facilitation of normal adaptive/cognitive, fine motor, personal social and self-help skills
  • Fabrication of static and dynamic orthoses (splints) 
  • Scar management 
  • Improving emotional maturation, attention skills and self concept 
  • Measuring and fitting of upper body compression garments 
  • Sensory processing evaluation and treatment 
  • Equipment adaptions
