Heart Failure Treatments

Patients suffering from heart failure have a variety of options for treatments offered by Loyola. In addition to lifestyle modifications and medications, these include:

Hemodynamic monitoring
Ventricular assist devices (VADs)
Transplantation

Hemodynamic Monitoring
Non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring now is available to help monitor the heart. This type of monitoring, previously only available by inserting a catheter in the veins leading to the right side of your heart, helps the team monitor the results of medication changes and helps keep patients out of the hospital unless absolutely necessary.

Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs)
Loyola cardiovascular surgeons are highly skilled at implanting VADs as a bridge to transplantation or a bridge to recovery. As a premier cardiovascular center, Loyola participates in numerous clinical research trials.

If you would like to make an appointment or need assistance to find an appropriate physician, please call us at (888) LUHS-888.
