Lung Transplantation Team

Loyola's lung transplantation team is multidisciplinary in its approach to caring for its patients. Our team is among the most experienced in the country for lung transplant. This team approach is what has made Loyola's lung transplant program the success it is.

Every patient who undergoes a lung transplant is followed by an experienced team with a solid history of collaboration. The team includes at least 10 team members, including thoracic/cardiovascular surgeons, pulmonary physicians, procurement nurses, infectious disease specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, anesthesiologists, immunologists, social workers, dieticians, pastoral care staff and, at times, other specialists, including gastroenterologists, urologists, cardiologists and research coordinators.
