How to Refer for Interventional Cardiology
Each patient’s course of treatment is determined by using the very latest techniques to assess the location and severity of the coronary artery disease.

If you would like to discuss a case with any of our interventional cardiologists, please call (877) MDs-LUHS.

Who should you refer?

  • Patients who need angioplasty/stent
  • Patients for complex diagnostic cath
    • Construction/restriction diagnosis
    • IHSS
    • L-R, R-L shunt
    • Complex valvular disease
    • Trans-septal catheterization
    • Difficult access
  • Patients for pericardiocentesis
  • Patients for corotid stenting
  • Patients for closure of PFO, ASD
  • Patients for endograft treatment of aortic aneurysms
  • Patients for treatment of peripheral vascular disease
  • Patients needing placement of an intra-aortic balloon pump
  • Patients considered for mitral valve valvulpolasty
  • Patients considered for IHSS, alcohol septal ablation
  • Patients who need Greenfield filter placement for IVC interruption

  • Coronary artery stent/angioplasty
  • Alcohol septal ablation for symptomatic IHSS
  • Percutaneous closure of PFO, ASDs
  • Mitral valvuloplasty
  • Transseptal catheterization
  • Percardiocentesis and drain
