Telemetry Unit

Stable patients whose hearts need to be monitored around the clock are placed on our telemetry unit. Patients are hooked up to a state-of-the-art continuous electrocardiogram monitor through a small portable box. They are able to move around while being monitored.

Loyola has 71 telemetry beds among two wings of the hospital.

Patient Population
The patient population in one wing serves post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients, including those who have had:

Coronary artery bypass
Lung and heart transplants
Valve replacements

The other location serves medical and cardiology patients requiring telemetry including those who have had:

Cardiac catheterizations
Angioplasty
Trauma

Our Team
Our professional staff consists of two nurse managers and assistant managers, registered nurses, patient care technicians, unit secretaries and monitor technicians.
