Brain, nervous system, and head and neck cancers only represent about three percent of cancer cases in the general population. However, the number of new cancer cases treated by Loyola University Health System's (Loyola) neuro-oncology team has increased 17 percent in recent years. 

The Department of Radiation Oncology, in coordination with the Department of Neurological Surgery, has implemented a new computer-assisted radiation delivery system, utilizing stereotactic radiotherapy in 3-D treatment planning.
