Emergency Medicine

When your child has an emergency injury or illness, minutes can count. The Ronald McDonald® Children’s Hospital of Loyola University Medical Center offers a full spectrum of emergency medicine for those critical moments when your child is in need.

Certified as a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Pediatric Critical Care Center, critically injured children receive care under the direction of board-certified trauma surgeons and their teams. More than 14,000 children annually receive evaluation in our pediatric emergency department, the only round-the-clock pediatric trauma program available in the Chicago suburbs

Critical Care Transport
The LIFESTAR Critical Care Transport Team is on call 24 hours a day to assist in the transport of critically ill children from outlying hospitals.
