Urology
Services
Urology services at Loyola is widely recognized as one
of the top urology programs nationwide. Loyola's urologists
have intense dedication to providing the highest quality
care while preserving the individuality, privacy and
dignity of each patient. The service includes specialists
in adult urology, pediatric urology, urogynecology and
research scientists. Services include a comprehensive
array of general urology, tertiary and subspecialty
care for adults and children.
General
urological care includes treatment for a wide spectrum
of diseases, such as urinary tract infections, evaluation
for urologic cancers (including prostate, bladder, kidney,
testes, adrenal, etc.), pain or swelling of the scrotum
or testicles, kidney stones, urinary incontinence and
sexual difficulties. Special expertise in laparoscopic
(minimally invasive) surgery is available. The specialists
also offer expertise in complex urological problems,
such as treatment for voiding dysfunction with a neurological
condition (stroke, spina bifida or spinal cord injury);
urinary and penile prosthesis; and extra-corporeal lithotripsy,
a noninvasive treatment for kidney stone disease.
Specialty
Services
Urologic

cancers, including leading edge treatments such as radiation
seed implants and laparoscopic cryosurgery to treat
kidney cancer.
Male
Infertility and Erectile Dysfunction
The latest technologies are used to treat male infertility
and sexual health, such as vasoepididymostomy for vasectomy
reversal after 10 years or more, and microscopic sperm
retrieval.
Urogynecology
& Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Center
The center is a national model for integration of gynecologists
and urologists in the care of female incontinence, pelvic
prolapse and other pelvic disorders.
