Surgical Weight Management Center

Loyola University Health System's (Loyola) Surgical Weight Management Center provides comprehensive treatment options for weight management of obese persons. Treatment options for severe obesity include diet, medication, exercise programs, behavior modification and surgery. Only surgery has been proven to achieve adequate weight loss and long-term maintenance of weight loss. While the weight management center focuses on surgical options, a team of multidisciplinary specialists work with each patient to determine the best course of treatment.

Surgical options include:

• Lap Band - Silicone band around the gastric fundus
