Vascular Surgery Services
Peripheral
vascular surgeons at Loyola University Health System
(Loyola) offer evaluation and treatment of visceral
arteriosclerosis and intestinal angina; renal arteriosclerosis
with hypertension and/or renal failure; aortoiliac femoral
arteriosclerosis in patients with intermittent claudication
and aortic aneurysm. In addition, they treat extracranial
cerebrovascular disease, including stroke, transient
ischemic attacks and carotid stenosis. Also treated
are venous insufficiency, ischemic rest pain and gangrene.
This practice has extensive experience with patients
who have complications of previous vascular surgery
or trauma.

Vascular Laboratory
Diagnosis using non-invasive techniques is provided
for vascular disease of the blood vessels to the legs
or arms.
Therapeutic Endoscopy
The newest minimally invasive endoscopic techniques
often are used to treat arterial and venous diseases.
Varicose
Vein Clinic
Newer diagnostic techniques and therapies are offered
for patients with troublesome varicose veins.
Research
Research
interests include mechanisms of intimal hyperplasia
and atherosclerosis, hemostasis, thrombosis, carotid
artery disease, detection of aneurysms, symptomatic
carotid stenosis and evaluation of chronic venous insufficiency.
