Loyola
University Health System (Loyola) is a recognized leader
in providing medically advanced diagnosis and treatment
for infants and children with heart problems, so that
they can lead active, normal lives. Pediatric cardiologists
at Loyola provide specialized diagnostic services and
tertiary care for newborns and children with congenital
or acquired heart defects or dysrhythmias. They use
the latest non-surgical technologies whenever possible
to close holes in the heart, open narrow valves and
correct congenital heart defects and abnormal heart
rhythms. A wide range of diagnostic procedures is available,
including transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal echocardiograms
as well as biplane cineangiography, Doppler ultrasound,
electrophysiologic studies and exercise testing.
