Patient
Education: Laser Vision Center
Caring for yourself after your surgery
Once you have had laser vision correction surgery,
it's important to know how to take proper care
of yourself. It's also helpful to know what to
expect the next few days and beyond.
- You may experience some mild pain or discomfort
as the anesthetic wears off. If you experience
any more than mild pain, call your doctor.
- You will not be allowed to rub your eyes
for one month after surgery.
- You will need to wear an eye shield for a
short amount of time following surgery. Your
doctor will tell you how long based on your
individual case.
- Be patient waiting for your vision to improve.
The intended results of your surgery can take
several days to a few months.
- You will have several scheduled follow-up
visits, but if anything happens differently
than what you expected, be sure to call your
doctor.
If you have any further questions, please call
us at (888) LUHS-888 and ask to speak with one
of our laser vision correction specialists.
