University Health System’s (Loyola) family medicine
specialists see patients at offices throughout the western
and southwestern suburbs. The team’s philosophy
of care emphasizes treating the whole person - body,
mind and spirit - and building lasting relationships
with families and communities. Family medicine physicians
provide primary health care for people at every stage
of life. Medical services include check-ups, health
screenings, immunizations, laboratory tests, dermatologic
care and treatment, cryotherapy, minor outpatient surgery,
smoking cessation assistance and acupuncture.

General gynecological care, menopause treatments, mammograms
and pregnancy testing are offered.
Infants
and Child Care
Comprehensive care includes immunizations, treatments
for chronic conditions such as asthma and allergies,
lead testing and school physicals.

Geriatric care includes disease management, flu shots
and health assessments.
Research
Research
projects have focused on health care for elderly minorities
in an urban environment, treating obesity in a school-based
setting, family violence and sudden infant death syndrome.
