Hospital
Visiting Hours
Visiting hours for most
hospital patients are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Overnight
passes are necessary for all overnight guests and are
issued by the Security Department, with the approval
of the Nursing Supervisor.
Labor & Delivery/Maternity/Newborn
The visiting hours for Labor & Delivery and
Maternity/Newborn areas are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Neonatal Unit
Mothers and fathers may visit 24 hours a day; siblings
may visit with adult supervision from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Any other visitor (including grandparents, cousins,
aunts and uncles) may visit between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Pediatrics
Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care is a locked unit.
There is a doorbell at the front entrance that needs
to be activated for entry and exit. Visiting hours are
4 pm to 7 pm. Only two visitors are allowed at the bedside
and this number includes the parents. One parent may
stay overnight at the bedside. Parents have access to
visit 24-hrs a day.
A Spanish Interpreter is
on site Monday - Friday (except Holidays) from 1pm -
8pm.
There is a Ronald McDonald
House near Loyola University Medical Center located
on Hines campus.

Intensive Care
Units
For patients in intensive care, cardiac care and for
all pediatrics patients, 24-hour visitation is available.
However, visitors shall not exceed 15 minutes per hour
in the patient's room, except in special circumstances
as approved by the nursing staff.
Intensive Care Unit (2nd
floor ICU) - 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., 4
p.m. to 5 p.m., 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Intensive Care Unit (4th floor ICU) - 10 a.m. to 11
a.m., 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., 8 p.m. to
9 p.m.
Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit (2rd floor) - 9 a.m.
to 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m.to- 9
p.m.
Medical Intensive Care Unit (3rd floor MICU) - 9 a.m.
to 2 p.m., 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Critical Care Unit (3rd floor CCU) - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.,
5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Intermediate Intensive Care Unit (4th floor) - 10 a.m.
to 11 a.m., 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., 8 p.m.
to 9 p.m.
Hospice
Hospice patients' visiting hours are 24-hour with no
limitations, and visits by children are welcome.
Psychiatric
Psychiatric patients can have visitors weekdays from
6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from
2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Important note for all
visitors:
Children under 12 years of age, must be accompanied
by a responsible adult. In compliance with the Illinois
Administrative Code, children under the age of 6 shall
use visiting facilities (unit or main lobby) other than
the patient's room, unless that room is private. Children
12 years and younger are restricted from special care
areas, except in special circumstances through prearrangement
with nursing or administration staff.
