The
234,000-square-foot Maguire Center is home to
numerous Medical Center departments including
neurosurgery, otolaryngology,
orthodontics, the Oral
Health Center, medical records, research services,
pastoral care, and Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing. Located
just south of the hospital, the building is named
after James F. Maguire, S.J., president of Loyola
University Chicago from 1955 to 1970, who oversaw
the creation of Loyola University Medical Center.
