PEDIATRIC PATIENT SAFETY EDUCATIONAL MODULE

The Pediatric Patient Safety educational module is designed for online use by an individual for educational credit as well as for offline use.  Contact EMSC if you have any questions or problems at (708) 327-EMSC.

Online Continuing Education Credit

Nurses: This activity is being offered for 2.0 contact hours for nursing.

Physicians: This activity is AMA approved for 2.0 Category II CME.

Prehospital Providers: To receive 2.0 contact hours, you must have EMS Medical Director approval and follow all EMS System policies related to CE approval.

In order to obtain CE credit as an individual user, you must register (a 5 to 10 minute process) with PublicHealthLearning.com and complete a user profile prior to accessing the EMSC module.  Registration is free.

You must achieve a Quiz score of at least 80% (electronically graded) to receive CE credit. When successful completion is confirmed, you will receive an email with instructions for obtaining a Certificate of Completion from the PublicHealthLearning.com Web site.

Course Description

This Pediatric Patient Safety educational module highlights the efforts made in the area of pediatric patient safety (since our initial publication in 2004), the extent that the problem still exists, and offers numerous proven strategies to reduce the number of pediatric patient safety errors within the healthcare setting.  We encourage all healthcare professionals that provide care to pediatric patients to review this module. It is our hope that you will utilize these materials to further enhance your care of children.
