Dr. Shea is Professor of Clinical Neurological Surgery at Loyola with
a specific interest in Spinal Disorders, Peripheral Nerve Surgery,
Neurotrauma and Pituitary Surgery. A consummate teacher, Dr. Shea began
his career with the intention of teaching graduate level Anatomy. He has
the distinction of being awarded the 'Teacher of the Year' Award for the
Stritch School of Medicine in 1999 - the third time he has received this
designation. Dr. Shea is recognized as a regional expert in acute
management of neurotrauma, and has one of the busiest spine practices in
the Midwest. His contribution to the practical anatomy of peripheral
nerve and spinal disorders is celebrated at both the medical student and
resident levels.
