Dr. Origitano assumed oversight of the department as Professor of
Neurological Surgery and Chair in April 1997. Since that time he has
doubled the faculty, and opened new laboratories in neuro-oncology and
spinal cord injury. He has been invited to speak at national and
international symposia about his clinical expertise in Cranial Base
Surgery, Cerebrovascular Disorders, and Neuro-oncology. Dr. Origitano
has personally overseen the growth of the department's reputation and
local presence, planning and developing the new Neuro Intensive Care
Unit, Inpatient Facility, and Neurosurgery Office Space and
Laboratories.
