Prayer for St. Luke's Day

Good and gracious God,

you share your ministry of healing

with physicians and nurses, and with all

those professionals who commit their talents

to heal and strengthen patients and their families.

Through the companionship

of the great physician Luke,

bless us with your gifts of wisdom and hope.

Give us patience when we are tired,

strength when we are weak,

and the grace of hospitality for everyone we meet.

Loving God,

lay your healing hands upon us now.

May we walk always in your love.

May every action of our lives give glory

and praise to you, our loving God.   Amen!

Health Care Workers Week – May 14-18, 2007

Good and gracious God,

through all our adventures of healing and hope,

we thank you for the gift of one another, as well as

for the gifts and talents you entrust to our care.

Bless our co-workers, as well as all the

patients and families whose lives we touch --

wherever we labor, whatever we do.

This week of celebration help us to truly

value the time and talent, the life and

possibility you share with us.

Bless everyone throughout the Loyola Health System.

Give us caring hearts in everything we say and do.

Amen!

Blessing for LUMC Holiday Lunches ~ December 12 and 13, 2007

God of all our days, we give you thanks for all the blessings of 2007, especially the gift of one another as co-workers and good friends.

Bring your gift of peace to a world so fragmented with violence and war, with misunderstanding and unrest.  Bless in a special way the children of this world, for they are our hope for the future.

Bless our patients and their families throughout Loyola's Health System.  Help them know your healing and give them your peace.

This season of family and faith, please bless our homes and strengthen our hearts with your promise of new life.  We pray in a special way for our own families, and for all those who help us see your face.

Finally, loving God, as we look forward to celebrating this holiday season, may each of us experience deep within your strength and possibility.  And may we always share your joy with one another.

We praise your name, good and gracious God, now and always.    Amen!
