Q: Is the Center open to the public or only to employees and patients?
A: The Loyola Center for Health & Fitness is open to anyone interested in joining this premium health club. No patient care is conducted anywhere in the facility; the entire
Center is dedicated to fitness.
Q: Are there special rates?
A: Yes. Rate structures differ depending on if you are a Loyola employee,
student, community member, senior, or corporate member. Please
contact the Member Service Desk at 708-327-BFIT (2348) for more information
about membership rates.
Q: Are aerobic classes extra?
A: All classes on the group fitness schedule
are included in your membership. Approximately 70 classes are offered per week,
including yoga, aqua aerobics, Group Power, step, Turbo Kick and spin.
In addition to the group fitness schedule, there are specialty classes offered
monthly for a minimal charge. Some of these classes include ballroom
dancing, Pilates, tai chi, NIA and aikido.
Q: Can I bring a guest?
A: Absolutely! Your guest can use the facility three times per calendar year.
A guest pass needs to be presented or purchased at the
time of the visit for $10. All guests will be required to present a current
photo id at each visit. See the
guest policy for more information.
Q: Is there a trial membership?
A: No, currently trial memberships are not available. Please come
in for a tour and meet with the Member Service staff for more information.
Q: What are the busiest times at the facility?
A: While the Center experiences bursts of usage several times a day, utilization tends to be highest from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Q: What should I wear?
A: We suggest wearing comfortable, athletic type clothing. Many members
chose to wear T-shirts and shorts or sweatpants. Appropriate closed-toe,
protective footwear must be worn at all times.
Q: Is there someone to help me start a program?
A: Yes. Several degreed fitness specialists are on staff to help you design
and begin a program tailored to your goals and exercise preferences.
