EMSC Pediatric Mild Traumatic Head Injury QI Project

Illinois EMSC has launched a statewide quality improvement project regarding the Emergency Department management of pediatric patients with mild traumatic head injury. The project specifically focuses on children from birth to fifteen years of age who present with mild head injuries, as defined by a GCS of 14 or 15 upon Emergency Department arrival. 

EMSC has generated reports discussing the incidence, prevalence and management of these patients, and has prepared related educational resources for providers.
