EMSC PEDIATRIC SEIZURES QI PROJECT

Illinois EMSC has launched a statewide quality improvement project regarding the Emergency Department (ED) management of pediatric patients with seizures. The project specifically focuses on children from six months to five years who are diagnosed with Simple Febrile Seizures, and children from one month to fifteen years of age who are diagnosed with either Unprovoked (non-febrile) Seizures or Status Epilepticus.

EMSC has generated reports discussing the incidence, prevalence and management of these patients, and has prepared related educational resources for providers.
