The Pediatric Mild Traumatic Head Injury
educational module is designed for online use for continuing educational
credit. Contact EMSC if you have any questions or problems at (708) 327-EMSC.
Course Description
The
purpose of the Pediatric Mild Traumatic
Head Injury module is to enhance the care of pediatric patients who present
with mild traumatic head injury. It
will discuss a number of topics including:

hope that healthcare professionals will utilize these materials to further
enhance the care of children in their own institutions.
The module is presented
in 2 formats:
Online Continuing Education Credit
Nurses:
This activity is being offered for 3.0 contact hours for nursing
continuing education.+
Physicians:
This activity is AMA approved for 3.0 Category II CME.
Prehospital
Providers:
To receive 3.0 contact hours, you must have EMS Medical Director approval and
follow all EMS System policies related to CE approval.
In order to obtain CE
credit as an individual user, you must register with
www.PublicHealthLearning.com
and complete a user profile prior to accessing the EMSC module. Registration is free and only takes 5 - 10 minutes to complete.
You must achieve a
Quiz score of at least 80% (electronically graded) to receive CE
credit.
After completing the module, click on the PublicHealthLearning.com
Quiz and
Evaluation links in the
ACTIVITIES section of
"My Courses"
and follow the online
directions.
PublicHealthLearning.com
will send you an email confirmation when you have achieved
at least 80% on the Quiz and filled
out the Evaluation. You will be instructed to login again, click on
Completed Courses and print out a
Certificate of Completion for your
files.

Offline Course Materials
This module may also be used offline for educational purposes, either as an
individual or in a group setting. You may download and/or print out the module
to suit your facility's needs.
As of February 1st,
2009*:
In
order to receive CE credit from the EMSC program, every student must register
with
PublicHealthLearning.com
to complete the Quiz and Course Evaluation form related to this module.
After successfully passing the Quiz (at least 80% correct), the student will
receive a congratulatory email from
PublicHealthLearning.com
with instructions to download/print out the CE certificate.
