Office of Development

Society of the Shield

The Society of the Shield recognizes those who, through will bequests, and deferred and life income gifts, establish a personal legacy to secure Loyola University Health System’s future. Society of the Shield membership benefits include:

  • Annual Society of the Shield of Loyola Mass and brunch
  • Members’ special intentions remembered in Masses offered throughout the year
  • Timely updates from Loyola’s Office of Planned Giving on tax, financial, estate and retirement planning
  • Priority invitations to Loyola events throughout the year
  • Recognition at Loyola events
  • Recognition in Planned Giving newsletters and other publications

By letting us know about your legacy gift plans, we can help draft a gift agreement and ensure your wishes are followed, make note of the gift and plan for the future, and recognize you for your generosity. To learn more about planned giving options and the Society of the Shield, please contact Robert Barto, senior director, Major Gifts, rbarto@lumc.edu, (708) 216-3203. If you are a Stritch alum, contact Arnaud Buttin, Major Gifts Officer, abuttin@lumc.edu, (708) 216-6576.
