Areas to Support

Loyola University Health System (Loyola) is seeking funds to support three priority areas: patient care, education and research.

Patient Care
Loyola University Health System is a nationally recognized and respected academic health-care system. In its 35 years, the campus has grown in size and stature, establishing itself as a patient care provider that goes beyond the treatment of disease and treats the human spirit.

We are continuously improving our services so that every patient who enters our doors receives outstanding quality, compassionate care that is the core of Loyola's promise.

Loyola’s $103 million medical center expansion project will consolidate and expand our heart and vascular services into one space, make more private hospital rooms available, add additional technologically advanced operating rooms and increase the Emergency Department and Burn Center capabilities.

Education
Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine (Stritch) is unique in its approach to educating health-care professionals. The school not only provides an extraordinary medical education, but also imparts a foundation based in the Jesuit principles of learning and service.

Stritch’s most pressing need is sufficient scholarship support that would allow medical students to proceed in their careers without crushing debt burdens, and would enable Stritch to continue attracting the best and brightest students. Indebtedness influences career choices and can lead students away from the very service-oriented practices that Loyola encourages.

Research
Loyola’s leadership in scientific discovery during the next decade and beyond requires significant investment in new biomedical facilities and programs, as well as faculty and student research activities. A new research building would house clinical and basic science researchers in an environment that provides state-of-the-art technologies, meets modern research needs and creates a culture of team science.
