Mission Statement and Donor Bill of Rights

Development Mission Statement
We want you to experience the joy of philanthropy and feel confident that your donation has been used for its intended purpose. We are here to assist you in matching your philanthropic passions with the needs of the Loyola University Health System. Discussions about gift purposes and the impact a gift makes on your personal and financial goals will be treated confidentially.

Donor Bill of Rights
Loyola University Health System considers philanthropy to be a voluntary action for the public good. It is this tradition of giving and sharing that drives and supports our work. To ensure that our donors can have full confidence in Loyola University Health System and the programs we ask them to support, we declare that all of our donors have the following rights:

  1. To be informed of the Loyola University Health System mission, of the way we intend to use donated resources and of our capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purpose.
  2. To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
  3. To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
  4. To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
  5. To be informed of the identity of those serving on the Loyola University Health System governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
  6. To have access to Loyola University Health System’s most recent financial statements.
  7. To be assured that information about their donations is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by the law.
  8. To expect that all relationships with individuals representing Loyola University Health System will be professional in nature.
  9. To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of Loyola University Health System or hired solicitors.
