Anne
L. Porter, PhD, RN, CNAA
Anne L. Porter, PhD, RN,
CNAA, is associate vice president of Quality and Patient
Safety, Loyola University Health System. She provides
quality improvement leadership and consultation throughout
the health-care system, including adoption of best practices,
performance improvement initiatives, quality monitoring
and improvement processes, accreditation issues and
fostering an environment for innovation.
Porter is an adjunct faculty
member in the health systems management program in the
Niehoff
School of Nursing, Loyola University Chicago. Porter
teaches outcomes performance management courses for
graduate nursing students and is co-principal investigator
of the Advanced Practice Nursing: Health Systems Management
grant funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration.
Previously Porter was the
corporate director of clinical integration at Mercy
Health Services, Farmington Hills, Mich. Prior positions
include associate chairman for education and research,
Evanston Hospital Corporation, Evanston, Ill.; assistant
dean, College of Nursing, University of Illinois at
Chicago; and other positions in nursing education and
clinical services.
Porter received her bachelor
of science degree from the College of St. Teresa, Winona,
Minn., master of science in nursing from Loyola University
Chicago and doctoral degree from Northwestern University,
Evanston, Ill. She is a fellow in the Wharton Program
for Nurse Executives. Porter is certified in advanced
nursing administration by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center.
